In the yogic world, the mind is described as a monkey that is drunk, bitten by 64,000 scorpions and possessed by a ghost. This monkey mind creates a thousand thoughts in the blink of an eye. The mind is never at rest; jumping back and forth and the very effort to stop it gives it more nourishment. The illusion, is the mind itself trying to solve the mind’s problem. The reality is that even if one problem is solved, another problem sprouts from it. The ancient Sages advise that life is not about solving the problems, it’s about dropping them. Problems can only be dropped if our identification with the mind and thoughts are dropped. We will use Kundalini yoga, mantras and meditation to transcend the mind and drop the problems that keep us from being free.
